Spirit Week
We are now in the
middle of Spirit Week and we have been having lots of fun! We started the week with School T-shirts (supplied by our wonderful
PTFS) on Monday. Tuesday, the PTFS provided leis to wear for Hawaiian Day and a hot dog lunch. Wednesday seems to be really
popular. Today is pajama day and we had breakfast for lunch! Still to come, Thursday is school colors day. Be sure to wear
blue, yellow and white. Friday will be normal jeans day but we are wearing hats. Whether it is crazy, colorful or classy,
this is the day for hats!
Thank
you so much to our wonderful PTFS for supplying free hot lunch every day this week! They have worked extra hours and provided
T-shirts, contests, and food. Spirit week would not be the same without their hard work and creativity.
Library
Day
Thursday, September 24th is our second library day. As long as the
weather is nice we want to make a trip to the library every two weeks or so. Be sure to send library cards with the students.
We will be walking to the library and parents will pick up students at the library at regular pick-up time.
Field Trip Time!
On October 8, we will
be going on our first all school field trip of the year. We will be going to Queysmaze for fun on the farm. We will experience
a hay ride, the corn maze, a hay pyramid, and each student will receive a small pumpkin. The farm is located next to the Bruneau
Sand Dunes State park so we will need parent drivers. We will be leaving Shiloh at 11:15. If you can be one of these parent
drivers, please contact Mrs. Shaw or Mrs. Rubino.
Please bring a sack lunch so we can eat as soon as we arrive
in Bruneau. After lunch, we will learn about Idaho and about the foods grown on our local farms. We will have plenty of time
for all the activities and still arrive back at school in time for parent pick-up. Cost of admission is based on each student’s
grade; up to third grade will cost $3.00, fourth thru sixth will be $4.00 and older students will be $5.00. Parent chaperones
have an admission cost of $2.00. There are also larger pumpkins for sale so you have the option of sending a few dollars extra
to purchase one of these. They are a better price than your local supermarket and it gives the students a more experiential
relationship to the agriculture of our region.
Please
be sure your student brings the following:
Jacket (light or heavy, depending on weather)
Sack Lunch
Cost of admission
